Ford EcoBoost engine technology company won the award of "International Engine of the Year" 2012. This achievement is based on the selection of 76 journalists from 35 countries. Ford Ecoboost engine also won two other awards, the "Best New Engine" and "Best Engine Under 1.0 liter" of the magazine Engine Technology International.
EcoBoost engine combines turbocharging, direct fuel injection and variable valve timing on the inlet and out to generate a great car but fuel efficient.
Ford projected that more than 300,000 Focus in Europe will be equipped with 1.0-liter EcoBoost. "Evidence that the 3-cylinder engine can be used on vehicles like the Ford Focus," said Slavnich, Engine Technology International.
